Michael Christian Sprouts, 2022 Located on Keystone Ave.

"Sprouts" is an art installation commissioned for Reno’s Neon Line District. This series comprises tree-like lighting fixtures that brilliantly light up the streets, adorned with vibrant tubing that resembles leaves. As night falls, these "leaves" come alive, changing colors continuously and casting an enchanting glow into the night sky, adding a lively and dynamic ambiance to the urban landscape.

The artist, Michael Christian, was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He pursued his BFA at the University of Texas at Austin before an extensive apprenticeship for late American sculptor, Luis Jimenez. As he set out to create his own large-scale sculptures, Michael moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1995. He is known for building large, fun and playful interactive sculptures. His large-scale steel creations can be found in city centers, private collections and at events throughout North America, Europe and Australia.
