"Natura" is an installation focused on light, showcasing abstract nature footage that delves into the otherworldly beauty of the natural environment. Utilizing slow-motion and diffusion techniques, this illuminated artwork cultivates a dreamy ambiance, offering viewers an opportunity to retreat from the busy pace of everyday life and immerse themselves in the tranquility of the Afterglow Lounge.
The parametric designed, illuminated wall sculpture was created by Victoria Mara Heilweil and Phil Spitler. Victoria is a nationally exhibited photographic artist, curator and educator. She received her Masters of Fine Arts from California College of the Arts in 1995. Her work has been exhibited at the de Young Museum, San Jose Institute for Contemporary Art, Intersection for the Arts, Southern Exposure, Root Division, California Academy of Sciences, Washington Square Art Galleries in New York City and more. Phil is a Creative Technologist, artist and fabricator. With almost 20 years of experience as a motion graphics and visual effects artist, his work combines both art and technology, using software and computer controlled tools to make both on screen and physical art. His work has been shown at the California Academy of Sciences, Zero1 Biennial, Luminary | Art Tech conference, The Autumn Lights Festival in Oakland and Burning Man.
