Charles A. Gadeken SQUARED , 2014 Located at Arlington Ave. Parking Lot

"SQUARED" stands as an immense otherworldly totem, a creation born from a futuristic world that has evolved beyond the bounds of nature. This colossal, dynamic tree, adorned with a kaleidoscope of colors and perpetual transformations, symbolizes the ongoing evolution of organic substances harmoniously merging with the realm of digital technology.

This masterpiece was created by professional industrial artist, Charles Gadeken. He has been working as a sculptural artist in the Bay Area for over 20 years. Skilled in the numerous ways to manipulate metals, he makes copper, bronze and steel pieces of various sizes and functionality, from tabletop fire flowers to 50 ft tall LED trees. He is known for the way he engages the imagination through his art, depicting natural objects in a fantastic way. He runs a communal art space, the Box Shop, in San Francisco to encourage the arts community in this increasingly expensive city that displaces working artists. Charles has inspired hundreds of people to participate in making art in this collaborative workspace.
